Leonidas Panagiotakopoulos
Dr. Leo – as he is known to his patients – is double board certified in pediatric endocrinology and general pediatrics. He completed his residency training in Albert Einstein college of medicine, Bronx, New York and did his fellowship training at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
He has been involved in various research projects including national multi-center pediatric type 1 diabetes studies, statewide newborn screen screening public health studies, and investigating genetic causes of pituitary problems. He has published over the last decade in multiple peer-reviewed journals and has presented in regional and national conferences.
His area of expertise is growth and puberty concerns in the pediatric and adolescent age groups. He has a particular interest in thyroid and adrenal problems, as well as helping kids with the endocrine aspect of gender transition.
