Dr. Elizabeth Burtman
Dr. Burtman is a clinical instructor at Mount Sinai Hospital. She is double board certified in pediatric endocrinology and pediatrics. She completed her fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City and residency at Cohen Children’s Medical Center at North Shore LIJ in Long Island.
She has a vast experience in management of children with short stature including growth hormone deficiency, idiopathic short stature and short stature associated with certain syndromes. She also managed a cohort of children affected by X-Linked Adrenoleukodystrophy (X-ALD) who were diagnosed due to the recent implementation of routine testing on New York State Newborn Screen.
Dr. Burtman was involved in the closed loop system for insulin administration trials conducted at Mount Sinai Hospital. She has developed an interest in using modern technology for managing and attaining good control of Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus in children. She is excited to apply this modern technology to the treatment of her patients with insulin dependent diabetes mellitus.
Her research has been published in numerous publications and presented at various conferences such as Endocrine Society Meeting and International Meeting of Pediatric Endocrinology.
